Interesting

Though I don't think this is necessarily the forum for political discussions, a friend sent this to me and I thought people should see it.

I said it after 9-11 and i'll say it now: None of us are really in a position to really know what's going on.

well I guess things changed since 1994? 911 happened? I definitely know that we've taken our eyes off the prize. I was in the Army and remember when they announced we were going to war with Iraq. I was on duty. Everyone I was working with on that shift looked at each other like what the F? Most of us had joined up to help go after Osama. Of course there are the ones who joined just for the GI Bill.

It's such a strange situation we have ourselves in. We are living in very historical times. Who knows what the world will be like when my little girl grows up.

That's why I think it should be our role as contemporary artists to make work that counts. That has concepts that make people think about the greater good. Positive change. Engages thought. That asks the important questions. I might not be serving my country anymore but I'm serving my humanity. Again just a simple mind at work.

It really is the Twilight Zone isn't it?

john lennon met yoko ono at her one person show in new york, i believe. ok maybe it was london, not sure. But the exhibit was hundreds of "no's" written all over the walls. you climbed up a small small ladder to look through a hole and there you found one simple yes........................

i love her........and her music, well...........there isnt much like it that has ever been made.

James,

You make a good point...we cant really know what’s going on with our government because our is a government (regardless of which party is in office) that is built around a tradition of secrets.

My interest in this video, aside from the obvious, is the way in which Cheney presents himself: here’s he is thoughtful and articulate, capable of nuanced thought; whereas in more recent years his discourse with the public has devolved into a blustery antagonistic sort of I-know-what’s-best-for-the-country bullying.

Cheney seemed very sensical in 94'. I don't know what happened to him? Our military even wrote a How To book for war in the middleast and we haven't followed it?

I thought we learned from history?
Isn't that why we have historians to force us to remember the lessons learned. The first thing I do before I do anything is research it. Even before buying a product. Can't imagine not following a book written on a specific topic by my own organization?

Wish we had our old Cheney back...

It's also interesting to me in a public face vs. private face sort of way.
