Interesting read

Keith Mayerson
The Abduction of Ganymede (Rescued from an Eagle’s Nest), 2006

The New York Times has an interesting article about an artist-curated show (curated by the above-referenced artist)...it also touches on the myth of ideology and that of artistic integrity.

There's also a great article on "summer productivity," or the lack thereof.

Well I would hope Artists can curate shows. They make work. They know other artists. It seems like a no brainer to me?

Like they would make the best curators? Would think most curators are artists? Wouldn't you?

Looks like a great show though. Man. What Horror Vacui.

Actually, I think most curators are art historians.

That's why I sent people to that article....there is an interesting intersection between practice and theory..in this case practicing artists vs. curators who live in the past or future...but often not the now. That being said, I've been to some shows that were wonderfully curated.

Thanks for reading. I've been busy and traveling so not much time to post.
